Is Art All Night going to run for 24 hours this year?

No. Art All Night will be closed between the hours of 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Sunday. The event will run from 3 p.m., Saturday, June 15, until midnight Saturday, when no new entries to the event will be allowed. Those already inside will be allowed to stay until 1 a.m. when the event will be closed down, reopening to the public at 7 a.m. and running to completion at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 16.

Is Art All Night at the same site?

Yes, Art All Night will be held in and around the Roebling Wire Works site, located at 675 South Clinton Avenue in Trenton, as in past years.

Is Art All Night still free?

Yes! Art All Night is still free, and open to all.

After what happened last year, what will be different this year to ensure the event is safe?

Although the event is still free and open to all, the biggest change this year will be that the whole perimeter of the event, including all outdoor music, food truck and other activity areas, will be fenced off. Attendees must go through a security check at one of two entrances (off Dye Street and South Clinton Avenue) including being wanded and having their bags checked. All drinks and liquids of any kind, food, large bags, illegal drugs, weapons or other dangerous items will not be allowed in. Expect lines at the two entry points, perhaps long ones on Saturday evening. Please be patient and courteous, these are new measures but are meant to ensure the event is safe, secure and enjoyable for all.

Have you made changes to Art All Night itself?

No! The Art All Night 2019 experience will be the same captivating community experience it has always been, and familiar to you if you’ve attended past Art All Nights. If you’ve never attended Art All Night, you’re in for a wonderful time.

This year there will be Art All Night’s centerpiece community art exhibit inside the Wire Works building, live music on indoor and outdoor stages, food trucks, a beer tent, a film festival, interactive events, children’s activities (on Sunday), a craft market (also on Sunday), and much more. We will not have the silent disco this year.

Who will be staffing security at the two entrance points?

We are hiring a private security firm to handle security checks at the entrances. There will also be Trenton police stationed at each entrance.

What else is being done to make the event safe?

We have been working with the City of Trenton since January to develop a security plan with a large law enforcement presence for Art All Night. This plan has been vetted and signed off on by independent risk management and security consultants, as well as by the City and Artworks. For peak hours on Saturday and overnight, there will be upwards of 40 law enforcement officers (uniformed and plainclothes) from the City of Trenton Police, State Police, County Prosecutor’s Office, and other jurisdictions. There will also be a sizeable Trenton Fire Department and Emergency Services (EMT) contingent at the event. City police will be closing Dye Street and S. Clinton Avenue adjacent to the Art All Night site to vehicles, and patrolling the area outside the fenced perimeter of the event as well as the inside of the event.

Is parking and getting to the event going to be different?

No. You will be able to park at the same lots as in past years, then walk to the entrances.

I see negative comments on social media, even some of my friends and family are saying they may not attend Art All Night this year. Are these concerns valid?

We know that some people will be vocal about these things, and we understand they have every right to voice their opinion, and choose not to attend Art All Night this year. Art All Night has always been about countering the negativity directed at Trenton, and showing how wonderful the city and its art scene is. Now more than ever, attending Art All Night is a statement that we will not let the bad guys or the fear mongers stop us from being a part of something so big and wonderful, so creative, and so important. Art All Night is safer this year than it’s ever been. We hope you will show your solidarity with us, attend and help us bring Art All Night back, better than ever.
